To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living With Sarcoidosis My name is Alice. Im 26 years old and I have had Sarcoidosis since March of 2005. Before I was diagnosed I didn’t know what was going on with my body. I was tired a lot, my skin was changing, weight loss, coughing a lot, and I couldn’t breath. When I was in high school I participated in a lot of activities. Not knowing I was ill the doctors seem to not know what was going on they was treating me for other types of things. So one night I was so sick and I decided to go to the emergency room. When I told the doctor what was going on he did a chest x-ray and when the results came back my left lungs had collapsed and i had fluid around heart and lungs. I was scared and terrified all at the same time. They did emergency surgery and I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong. So in October of 2005 they removed partial of my right lung it was affected by the Sarcoidosis I have been through so much and all types of surgeries so now when i have to be in the hospital it don’t bother me cause since 2005 I have been out of the hospital so many times i can’t even count. I take prendisone, a breathing machine as needed, advir, and I use a inhaler as needed. I see a lot of doctors my lung doctor, blood doctor, spleen doctor which i got that removed in 2007, a heart doctor. Yes it hasn’t been a walk in the park living with this disease but, i can say this i can’t complain cause I’m still here. The lord blessed me with a beautiful baby Girl. Her name is Samiya. I thought i couldn’t have children cause i have been through so much. I finally have a child I’m a proud mother she was born Feb. 27, 2008. So I can’t let this illness get my down. I come too far to turn around. Comments
