JUST ASTHMA

by: CHAROLETTE on Wed, Mar 19 2008

HI, I’M CHAROLETTE A 35 YEAR OLD MOTHER OF 3 GIRLS, WHO HAS BEEN LIVING WITH SARCORD FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW. THE VERY FIRST YEAR ALL THE DOCTORS I RAN TO DIAGNOSISED ME WITH ASTHMA!! WHILE MY SYMPTOMS WERE WORSENING ALL ALONG, UNTIL ONE DAY AFTER BREAKFAST, NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, I FAIL TO THE FLOOR IN MY BEDROOM AND NO ONE COULD HEAR ME CALLING FOR HELP, BECAUSE MY RIGHT LUNG HAD COLLAPSED, AND I COULD NOT BREATHE LET ALONE CALL OUT FOR HELP. THANK GOD MY 12 YEAR OLD AT THAT TIME WALKED BY THE ROOM DOOR AND SAW ME LYING ON THE FLOOR CRYING, AND CALLED MY HUSBAND IN, WHO IN TURN THOUGHT I WAS JOKING UNTIL I COULD NOT ANSWER HIM. SO HE STARTED PUTTING ME ON SOME CLOTHES TO CARRY ME TO THE VAN, AND OFF WE GO TO THE HOSPITAL.

WHEN WE DID GET THERE, THE DOCTORS LET HIM KNOW ANY OTHER AMOUNT OF TIME WASTED WOULD HAVE BEEN THE END OF ME. YES I WOULD HAVE DIED, BECAUSE MY LUNG WAS PRESSING INTO MY HEART!!!!. NO WONDER I COULDNT TALK. THEY HAD TO PUT TWO CHEST TUBES IN ME IMMEDIATELY AND I STAYED IN THE HOSPITAL FOR ONE MONTH IN A HALF, AND TWO LUNG SURGERIES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GO BACK HOME. AND NOW AFTER 4 YEARS IM STILL SUFFERING WITH NEW SYMPTOMS AND HEALTH ISSUES ALL ASSOCIATED WITH SARCOIDOSIS. IS IT EVERY GOING TO END I THINK TO MYSELF, I PRAY THAT ANYONE WHO READS THIS WILL HAVE SOME HOPE TO KNOW THERE IS LIFE AFTER SARCOIDOSIS BUT YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO STAY IN THE RACE. SOME HAVE IT EASY, AND SOME DONT. I PRAY GOD WILL STRENGHTHEN US ALL TO FINISH THE RACE.
