Bad Medicine

by: Ken S. on Mon, Apr 28 2008

I recently was having a cardiac stress test on a treadmill, and my legs couldn’t take it, they started to give out on me, they just hurt like crazy. So, the CNP watching me during the test, decided to go with the chemical stress test. Prior to the start of both tests, my regular family Dr. called the CNP and told her I had pneumonia. Once the chemical stress test was started, I damn near passed out because I couldn’t breath. Afterwards, I had such a horrible headache so I asked for something for the headache and the level 2 chest pains I was having, and was told, sorry, we don’t have anything hera for that, if you want something for that, you’ll have to go to the E.R. next door. I would like to know if a stress test of either kind should have been done when I was having shortness of breath due to pnemonia? The lady just sat there like what I was experiencing meant nothing to her. I was so mad I could have punched the careless person. Sorry about the language, but when you’re having such a bad time, one doesn’t expect such treatment form medical staff. Should I look for a new cardiologist? Please, if anyone can help on this, do so ASAP. Thanks much from S.W. Minnesota.
