To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Pleural effusions My husband has had pleural effusions for quite a while as well as pericarditis First they drained the fluid out of around the heart sack. Then he was still out of breath. Chest X-rays showed more accumulation of fluid around the heart and right. So second trip to the hospital and pericardial window done. Shortly after second discharge from hospital, still shortness of breath, etc. Diagnostic: window closed up. So they did remove most of the pericardial sack and supposedly put medication in lining of lungs so that fluid doesn’t accumulate, A week later after 3 rd hospital discharge, pleural effusions in both lungs. Admitted yesterday in hispital and waiting for results of exams and/or doctor treatment plan. Comments
