Pleuradisis with right heart failure.

My daughter Katherine who was 12 at the time of open heart surgery in April 2006. The right side of her heart never really recovered. She ended up having a pleuradisis in August 2006 because of fluid build up around that right lung. The pleuradisis did help the fluid around the lungs but ended up in her abdominal cavity instead.

Shortley after this she was put on the heart transplant list. We had to go down to Toronto and wait 5 months for the new heart and in the mean time this fluid that was present in her abdominal cavity was getting worse and worse. She was 92cm around her tummy by the time we got the call for the heart.

The most terrible thing is that she did not survive the trauma her body had been through. She was in ICU for 3 weeks fighting liver/kidney and lung failure. We had to take her off life support On March 9th 2007.

I have had a lot of time to think about it and I want to know if anybody else has had a pleuradisis with right heart failure and it worked. I have tried to look for information on the internet but I am unable to find any information telling me if the procedure is contraindicated for right heart failure. My story is a long and hard and I cannot tell it all but I believe having that pleuradisis killed my beautiful and loving daughter. If anybody out there has had a similar situation and different results I would like to talk to them.
