Living with Chronic Cough

20 years ago I contracted a cough that lasted several years. It got so bad that after many bouts of antibiotics I was finally hospitalized and drug induced intraveineously for 7 days before I quit coughing. I have had 3 other bouts since lasting from 3 months to 18 months at a time. I am currently in my 4th month of another round. I have been put on ‘Septum’, Zepthromyicin, Levoquin, Amoxcillin and a steriod pack in that order. I still have a cough. I have taken Mucinex DM, Nyquil cough and cold capsules, Codine cough syrup and tons of cough drops. I don’t know what else to do. I have drunk vinegar and honey, olive oil, whatver else I read about and I take 180mg of Allegra daily, also. I did find a connection that I think may cause some of my cronic coughing. It seems every time I take cortizone steroids, through injection or orally ingested, I start coughing. I have tendonitis in my elbow and get a shot every 6 months or so. I also have had injections in my feet numerous times. Has anyone else experienced this? I have stopped medication thinking that was a cause, but it didn’t help, either. If anybody can help me get rid of this cough, I would be forever grateful.
