7 year old daughter with chonic [chronic] cough/stuffiness

by: D Prince on Tue, Feb 26 2008

This story comes from a mom who hs been praying so hard for some kind of answer… My daughter was diagnosed with “asthma” when she was 18 mos old. She has been on every kind of nebulizer and hand held inhaler known to man! and still coughing! We have been to ENT’s and Pulminologists [pulmonologists]. We found out she is allergic to peanuts and were gave allergy drops to use once a day. Still the Cough..

Then after about 4 years of being in and out of the hospital 2 or 3 times a year the pulminologist [pulmonologist] said we needed to have a bronchoscopy done. This showed that she had Branhamella Catarrhalias [catarrhalis]… She was given Cefdiner.. since then we have been on it and it helps alot but when we come off it we get the same cough again! Her pulminologist [pulmonologist] said that he may need to do another bronchoscopy and check for Cystic Fibrosis Which we are having a sweat test done tomorrow to check for the CF. Help, anyone been thru this to help me please.
