To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Coughing all my life I am 32 years old and I have had a chronic cough all of my life. I have always had a raspy voice, probably since the age of 2. I have never been a smoker although my father did for several years before I was born. He has been diagnosed with Chronic bronchitis or asthmatic bronchitis….which to me is hardly a diagnosis. I am writing because this nagging cough turns into bronchitis very easily and then takes me a couple of months to get over it. They have tested me for just about everything. Asthma testing came back normal, ruled out allergies, chest x-rays look good, Pulmonary function studies are normal. I even had an eckocardiogram and it was normal. I am very frustrated. I have always been relatively healthy with this exception. Before having my two children I did triathlons and have always been an avid exerciser. Recently I was training for a half marathon, but my bronchials got so inflamed and my immune system so torn down I was unable to race. I deal with shortness of breath from time to time….not during exercise though! My pulmonologist has found nothing and I truly feel this is not something a healthy 32 year old woman should be living with. Any related experience out there? Comments
